Bone Cancer Awareness Week (9th - 16th October 2010)
To coincide with Bone Cancer Awareness Week the Bone Cancer Research Trust (BCRT) has launched a new website, and Invicta are happy to promote awareness of this rare disease.
A diagnosis of bone cancer is devastating both for the person and their family as they have to come to terms with dealing with a life threating condition.
Bone cancer affects children and young adults. It is often diagnosed late as the pains associated with it are attributed to growing pains. There are only about 400 cases a year in the UK, therefore it is easy for people with the disease to feel extremely isolated.
The information on the new BCRT website represents the culmination of work, including input from medical experts, patients and their families. The information published is accurate, meets the needs of bone cancer patients and the language is clear and easy to follow.
More research is needed into bone cancer to reduce the delays in diagnosis and improve survival rates. There has been no improvement in survival for people with bone cancer in over 20 years, therefore new effective treatments are urgently needed.
Do visit the BCRT website at www.bcrt.org.ukfor more information and find out how you can support this worthy charity.
