Invicta Building Services were appointed to work on behalf of London and Quadrant, Sidcup, DA14 5HU to replace the defective flue system at Phoenix Court, London E14 3RE.
The existing flue required replacing as it had been installed incorrectly causing the boilers to fail and it was no longer Gas Safe compliant.
The project involved the removal of the existing flue system, and the installation of a new 18-metre high 350mm diameter twin wall stainless steel flue header system and vertical risers to 1 metre above the roof level, complete with a condenser pipe to termination. This new flue system was designed in-house by the Invicta Design team.
The additional works included scaffold erection, louvre removal, cutting access and egress points in the overhang, connection of the flue header system to the Ideal Evomod gas fired commercial boilers, measures to negate water ingress on the roof, system testing, flue system removal and disposal to an approved waste disposal site with waste transfer notes, striking scaffolding, site clearance.
The whole project was completed in 15 working days.
Following a site inspection, the completed project was then handed over to the client, and O and M’s were issued.
All health and safety regulations were fully complied with, and there were no accidents recorded.
